The Last Order | Chapter 20

Chapter 20 - Girl

"Damned brat!"

The middle-aged man's mouth twisted into a sneer when he saw the teenager rushing towards him furiously.

It reminded him of those wild beasts he had caught in the mountains before.

They would also madly slam against the cage doors before resigning to their fate.

Usually at this point, a few fierce kicks would make them docile.

The middle-aged man stared at the boy running wildly towards him, narrowing his eyes slightly. A trace of brilliance flashed through his eyes.

Just as the boy was about to rush up to him, the man moved.

"Slap!"

A sturdy right leg whipped out like a whip, fiercely whipping the boy's body through the layers of rain.

Without even a grunt, the boy was kicked flying to the side, crashing into the wall nearby and tumbling into the dark corner at the wall's base.

"Ptooey!"

The middle-aged man twisted his neck, spitting out the rainwater that had flowed into his mouth, and walked step by step towards the boy's position.

"Damn you, using me as a breakthrough point?"

The man looked condescendingly at the curled up boy on the ground, smiling and cursing a few dirty words.

He squatted down, reaching out to grab the boy.

But just as he stretched out his hand, a icy cold palm tightly clasped his wrist.

"Still have strength left?"

The man was slightly shocked, subconsciously raising his empty left fist, about to smash it down.

Just then, a terrible strength surged from his grasped wrist.

Before the man could react,

"Crack!"

He watched helplessly as his grasped wrist snapped like a twig.

His entire palm was still tightly held in the opponent's hand, the ruptured tendons and fascia under the skin pulling with gut-wrenching pain at the broken point.

The opponent fiercely pulled back.

dragged by the pain, the middle-aged man involuntarily pitched forward.

"Bang!"

It was as if something had fiercely punched his head, causing his whole body to reflexively lean back.

Then he was propped up by someone.

Amidst the heavy rain, two shadows pressed tightly together, charging forward madly.

Finally,

"Boom!"

Crashing heavily into the delivery van at the back alley entrance.

The body of the delivery van shook violently, its front slightly dented, the sound of breaking headlights.

Then everything became calm again.

The sound of rain.

Lightning rolling in the dark clouds.

The group of men in raincoats holding sticks and watermelon knives stood dumbfounded, somewhat caught off guard by everything that had happened in a flash.

"Brother Hei!"

Someone reacted, shouting loudly.

A silhouette at the silent front of the van slowly stood up, turned around, and faced everyone.

Orange van lights shone on him from behind as heavy rain fell, seeping into the shadows at his feet.

"Bro Hei?"

The blond young man wiped the raindrops off his face forcefully, carefully walked two steps forward while grasping the steel pipe, trying to make out the face of the silhouette.

But in the next second, the silhouette suddenly erupted.

A flash of lightning in the night sky illuminated the silhouette's appearance.

It was a handsome face, lips pursed tight, an expression of ferocity mixed with a trace of trepidation.

"Fuck!"

The blond youth was shocked, subconsciously shouting loudly: "It's not Hei-"

"Bang!"

He couldn't finish speaking before being slammed head-on, his whole body carried and heavily knocked into the crowd behind.

The battle erupted again in an instant!

Diverting all his attribute points into Strength, it was as if a wild beast had suddenly been crammed into Lu Yuan's body!

This wild beast rampaged and roared inside him, controlling his reckless charges.

He burst out and crashed into the obstructing blond, forcing his way brutally into the crowd.

Both of Lu Yuan's hands were clenched into fists.

Under the [Absolute Focus] state, apart from the whistling sound of the weapons cutting through the air around his ears, all the noisy chaos brought by the heavy rain seemed to recede from him.

He could see every action made by the people in front of him clearly, those faces full of shock, fury, fear, and viciousness.

Relying on his forward momentum, he fiercely punched a crew-cut youth in the face.

Like a puppet suddenly punched in the head, the youth collapsed to the ground without a peep.

Then a fierce front kick to the chest of a man wielding a watermelon knife!

"Crack!"

Lu Yuan felt as if he had kicked and broken something.

The watermelon knife man had already flown back like a cannonball, heavily smashing into the crowd behind.

Just then something hit his back.

He quickly turned his head to see a man wielding a baseball bat looking at him viciously.

But the moment their eyes met, he subconsciously shrank back.

Lu Yuan gritted his teeth and threw out a left hook.

The man had no time to raise his hands before being punched flying to the side by Lu Yuan, crashing messily into a pile of clutter in the corner.

At this point, the expressions on the faces of the remaining two had become horrified.

Their Adam's apples involuntarily rolled up and down as they began to cower and retreat backwards.

A flash of ferocity appeared on Lu Yuan's face as he strode forward aggressively.

Two minutes later.

The battle was thoroughly over.

Lu Yuan stood amidst the bodies lying criss-crossed on the ground, panting heavily.

The rain poured down on him, gradually extinguishing the flames burning in his chest.

His whole body was already completely soaked, but he seemed oblivious to it.

When his violently thumping heart finally calmed to a steady rhythm, he gradually regained his composure.

Lu Yuan picked up a baseball bat from the ground and gave each of the fallen people a few extra whacks.

This was to ensure they couldn't stand up again, while also checking that he hadn't accidentally beat any of them to death.

After all, he had hit them pretty hard, targeting vital areas on several people.

When he finished beating the last one, randomly throwing away the baseball bat in his hand, he saw that the blond young man whose leg he had forcibly broken was looking at him as if looking at a ghost.

Lu Yuan paid it no mind.

He didn't know when his heart had become so hardened.

It was probably from being pushed to the brink before.

Lu Yuan took out his phone from his pocket, hastily wiping away the water on the screen.

The screen lit up, showing several missed calls from his mom and dad.

Luckily it wasn't broken.

Lu Yuan breathed a slight sigh of relief, then called his mom back.

"I'll be back soon, real soon."

After hanging up, he randomly grabbed a phone from one of the groaning men in raincoats on the ground and dialed the emergency number.

Having done all this, Lu Yuan walked further down the alleyway.

He saw a small door, slightly ajar with a faint light coming through.

Feeling the pink hair clip in his other pocket, he hesitated for a moment before cautiously pushing the door open.

The room was empty.

The bare room contained only a red eight immortals table, the floor littered with cigarette butts, and an old standing electric fan creaking as it shook its head.

Lu Yuan immediately spotted the black canvas bag tossed in the corner.

Seemingly having heard his entrance, the bag rustled slightly.

Lu Yuan wiped the water droplets off his face and swiftly walked towards the bag.

He squatted down in front of it, hearing increasingly panicked breathing coming from inside.

Taking a deep breath, he swiftly flipped open the bag.

"Clatter!"

As the bag opened, the person inside shook violently in fright, but did not make a sound.

A pale little face soon came into Lu Yuan's view.

But Lu Yuan was stunned.

Lying in front of him was a skinny little girl with her mouth taped shut.

She was still wearing a school uniform.

Blue and white, with the words Jiaoyan No. 1 Middle School embroidered on the chest.

Her eyes were large, with a pointed chin.

She was around the same grade as Ling Yue, wearing an identical hair clip.

But she was even prettier than Ling Yue.

A mistake?

Lu Yuan then realized his misunderstanding.

"But she was still kidnapped."

Lu Yuan shook his head, discarding the irrelevant thoughts in his mind. Then he tore off the tape over the girl's mouth and said to her, "Don't be afraid, I'll take you out of here."

The girl didn't speak, just looked at Lu Yuan with an expression of sheer terror.

When Lu Yuan tried to pull the girl up, she kept shrinking away.

So he simply picked her up directly.

"Clattering--"

The heavy rain outside was still falling.

Lu Yuan ran swiftly through the alleyway holding a black canvas bag.

When he reached the alley entrance, he directly jumped onto the delivery van blocking the way and climbed over it.

Once outside, Lu Yuan ran under the eaves of a nearby shop.

He carefully put down the person in his arms.

Lifting the canvas bag covering her, he saw the schoolgirl curled up cat-like in his embrace, much of the terror gone from her face.

She seemed to have realized that she was saved.
