The Last Order | Chapter 14

Chapter 14 - Father and son match

"Five sticks of fried dough, fifteen steamed buns, and two bowls of soy milk please pack them for me."

Early in the morning, Lu Yuan dressed in black sportswear stood at the entrance of a breakfast shop buying breakfast.

Because it was the weekend, there were not many people in the shop without the students and office workers.

Only a few old men in undershirts and shorts who got up early to practice in the morning were having breakfast.

One of the old men even brought a radio with him and put it on the table while having breakfast, listening to crosstalk crackling on it.

After paying, Lu Yuan took the packed breakfast and walked slowly towards home.

It was 6:45 in the morning now.

He got up at 6 o'clock, and had been jogging in the city until now.

The benefits of strong physique and youth were shown at this time.

Although he had high-intensity training yesterday, today he was still energetic and even more energetic.

"Name: Lu Hui

Gender: Female

Age: 28

Height: 1.57m

Local Jiaoyan accent, wearing a white red love heart T-shirt on top and black denim shorts below, missing since May"

When passing by an internet cafe, Lu Yuan was attracted by the missing person notice posted on the wall at the entrance.

The photo showed a young girl hugging a short-tailed blue cat with a radiant smile.

He stopped and looked at it for a while.

He found that there was more than one missing person notice posted on the wall, about four or five.

The time when those missing people disappeared was mostly concentrated in May and June, almost all happened within these two months.

"It looks like the missing population case this time does seem to be very serious."

Lu Yuan frowned slightly.

In this era where there were surveillance and cameras everywhere, it was creepy that so many people disappeared in a short period of time, yet the police still failed to crack the case.

"Could it be that some large human trafficking organization has emerged in Jiaoyan City?"

"Ah--"

He suddenly felt a chill on his lower back, and the desire for strength in his heart surged.

Although the probability of such things happening to him was relatively low, if he was really unlucky enough to encounter it...

Having greater strength would at least give him a greater chance of getting out of danger.

"Still have to work harder!"

Lu Yuan thought to himself.

Unconsciously, he walked back to his family's small shop.

His mother, Zheng Qiuling, had already opened the door.

Lu Yuan helped his mother put some newly arrived goods on the shelves.

Recently, due to the missing population case, there were some panics in the nearby communities, and more people came to buy food than usual, so the small shop's sales had increased significantly.

After being busy for a while, Lu Yuan set up a small table in the store, and then had breakfast with his mother that he bought back.

Having jogged in the morning and moved goods, Lu Yuan was already hungry.

Now he had a big appetite, and more than three quarters of the breakfast went into his stomach.

While having breakfast, Zheng Qiuling suddenly thought of her elder daughter Lu Jing and couldn't help sighing.

"Every time your sister calls back, she complains about not being able to eat well or sleep well outside... Don't know when she can come back.

You said, why would such a good girl study archaeology?"

Lu Yuan didn't speak.

He felt that although his elder sister Lu Jing complained about this and that every time she called or video chatted back.

Her words contained a feeling of joy in it.

If she really couldn't stand something, she probably wouldn't even have the mind to complain about it, and would just want to flee back immediately.

At 7:30, Lu Yuan, who had finished breakfast, took the bus to the martial arts school.

He arrived at Yuan Martial Arts School before 8 o'clock.

Today, Lin Zhiqin taught basic footwork, which was part of basic martial arts techniques.

Compared with basic boxing and basic leg techniques, the movements of basic footwork seemed much simpler.

But in actual practice, it turned out to be not so simple at all.

Flexibility of the body was very important in martial arts.

To attack the opponent without being attacked, then your chances of winning would be greatly increased.

Footwork was especially important.

Lu Yuan still learned very carefully.

The lv2 [Absolute Focus] state allowed his mastery of basic footwork to be even faster than boxing and leg techniques.

Even Lin Zhiqin couldn't help praising him repeatedly.

Among this new group of students, Lu Yuan was undoubtedly the most focused and diligent during training.

But he was not the one who practiced the best.

"Yang Jiandong, come with me for a moment."

After teaching all the footwork movements, Lin Zhiqin immediately called a student out separately.

This student was tall and strong, with slightly dark skin.

Lu Yuan had a deep impression of him.

When this person first came, he said that he had practiced martial arts for three months and had beaten down the coach of the previous martial arts school.

And in the three basic courses of basic boxing, basic leg techniques and basic footwork, his performance was indeed the best.

Lu Yuan even suspected that this person's three basic techniques had reached the level of lv3.

Originally thought that Lin Zhiqin called out this student named Yang Jiandong for a shift change.

But near the end of class, a student suddenly shouted.

"Damn, Coach Lin actually gave Yang Jiandong private tutoring in secret!

Not only gave him extra practice, but also taught him things outside of the curriculum!"

"How do you know?"

"I'm friends with Yang Jiandong, he just sent me a message to show off!"

"Damn, Lin Zhiqin is really a scumbag!"

"Complaint, we must complain to the martial arts school about him."

A group of people righteously complained about the unfairness and wanted to file a complaint.

Lu Yuan also felt a little disturbed when he heard this.

In addition to envying Yang Jiandong's treatment, there was also a hint of dissatisfaction.

"If I could perform better, wouldn't this opportunity to be coached personally by Instructor Lin be mine?"

Lu Yuan asked himself, if he could train more, he would definitely be able to quickly catch up with and even surpass Yang Jiandong.

Unfortunately he was still a student now, and had to go to school for five days a week.

"Anyway, become an official disciple of the martial arts school as soon as possible!"

Lu Yuan thought to himself.

"You want to have a sparring match with me?"

Cheng Peng blinked, looking at Lu Yuan with a somewhat stunned expression.

Lu Yuan's expression was calm.

"Yes, I have learned all three basic techniques now, and feel I can try sparring."

"Don't mess around."

Cheng Peng shook his head immediately, "You just finished learning the techniques, and haven't even learned any attacks yet.

If we spar now, to be blunt, with just one hand I could easily crush you."

"I mainly want to get a feel for actual combat in advance.

The martial arts school only has two classes a week, the pace is too slow.

By the time there is a real chance to spar, it will probably be the second half of the year.

If you teach me actual combat, I can grasp those basics even faster."

"But--"

Seeing Cheng Peng still hesitating, Lu Yuan pretended to become "impatient", "What, you don't dare?

You're always bragging to me, saying you'll soon qualify to test for rank, become an official disciple...

Afraid when I ask you to casually exchange a couple moves."

"Me, afraid of you?!"

As expected, Cheng Peng couldn't stand this verbal provocation and immediately jumped up.

"I'm afraid you'll get hurt by me!"

"Come come, change clothes."

Cheng Peng rolled up his sleeves and said, "See you in the training hall in five minutes.

Father and son match, whoever loses is the son!"

"That's more like it, good boy."

Lu Yuan nodded with great satisfaction.
